Senior Production Technician

Reports to: : VP Engineering and Operations Summary

This position requires experience with production coordination including guidance and work allocation to the Assembly Technicians. This is a hands-on role. There is an expectation that the successful candidate will be willing and able to participate in build activities.

The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in the assembly and testing of complex electro-mechanical and hydraulic systems.

Primary Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Participate in a weekly Order Fulfillment meeting to clarify objectives and deliverables
  • Raise work orders as required, and ensure a timely progression.
  • Provides guidance to assigned staff
  • Resource allocation including materials and employees
  • Ensure correct logging of work order travellers & test reports
  • Liaise with sourcing & shipping as required
  • Ensure correct use of processes (RMA, NC, WI, Material Handling & Storage, Receiving, Logistics etc.)

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • The experience and ability to work under general direction with respect to business objectives and company philosophy
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current Ontario health and safety obligations
  • Experience with maintaining tooling and equipment
  • Experience with technical inspection of mechanical, hydraulic & electrical assemblies
  • Experience of programming PLC/firmware devices according to work instructions
  • Work Environment Knowledge
    • Ensure adequate tooling is available
    • Ensure work environment is kept clean & compliant with Health and Safety regulations
    • Ensure tool calibration & maintenance log is kept up to date & all calibration is done in a timely fashion
    • Ability to deliver; goal oriented with a strong work ethic

    Required Experience:
  • 5+ years in electro-mechanical production environment
  • Hydraulics experience highly preferred
  • Experience of electrical and mechanical QA essential

Additional information:
  • This position requires the physical ability to handle/lift heavy components in the assembly and shipping process
