According to Bloomberg stats, wind power is within 5.5% of the cost of electricity generated by coal, which makes it even more attractive to be investing in wind energy right now.

Warren Buffet’s MidAmerican Energy Holdings Inc. has ordered $1 Billion of wind turbines for Iowa projects, which is the equivalent of 1050 MW; the largest order placed for onshore renewables to date.
According to Tom Kiernan, CEO of AWEA (American Wind Energy Association) the cost of wind energy has dropped almost 90% in the last 20 years, and 30% in the past 3 years. Wind power has even become the cheapest source of power in States like Iowa.
Now that costs are being driven down, the industry no longer needs to rely on government subsidies in order to be competitive and realize growth. Wind energy production, on a global scale, has more than tripled since 2000 and has been showing no signs of slowing down. Some industries like agriculture in the UK are even using wind energy to supplement income from farming while contributing to the national grid.
Investing in wind energy has become even more lucrative and beneficial for our environment and future.
