Siemens announces offshore wind licensing in China

provides offshore and onshore wind turbines for wind farm along with wind turbine blades (wind energy and wind power)


Siemens Gamesa signed an agreement with Shanghai Electric to licence their SG 8.0 MW Direct Drive offshore wind turbine technology.
Shanghai Electric will have the ability to manufacture, sell and install the giant offshore wind turbines for power projects off China’s coast. According to the press release, the company is one of the top 5 wind turbine manufacturers in China and leads the country’s offshore wind market.
The partnership between the Siemens and Shanghai Electric actually started back in 2013 when they joined forces to help drive wind development in China. Together they’ve installed over 1200MW in offshore wind projects, which includes over 330 wind turbines.
CEO of Siemens Gamesa, Marcus Tacke said, “The history of Shanghai Electric and Siemens Gamesa working together is long and successful. We appreciate Shanghai Electric placing their trust in us, and I believe our partnership will continue to be strong, professionally and personally.”

President of Shanghai Electric, Zheng Jianhua said, “Our long-term cooperation serves as the solid foundation of our joint success.
