One Energy to build wind turbines in OH

One Energy, a company located in Findlay, OH, will be building a total of 5 wind turbines to supply plants for both Ball Corporation and the Whirlpool Corporation. The project is to cost $18 million and is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year.
General Manager of One Energy, Jereme Kent said, “We are doing the financial outlay and handling all of the construction and operation,”
“We try to make the energy, the cost efficiency that large wind turbines bring, available to large electric consumers,”
“And (we) have skipped the middleman of having to go through the transmission system, by doing it on-site.”
Vice president of Whirlpool’s Findlay operations, Dale Law said, ““We’re excited to join One Energy and the Findlay community for this project,”
“The Findlay Wind Farm project is an example of how global companies like Whirlpool can make a positive impact at the local level, and the global level by minimizing the impact of our operations on the environment.”
The wind turbines for this project will be built on 70 acres of land in Findlay, OH, and One Energy will retain ownership and operations. Whirlpool has agreed to purchase all electricity generated from 3 of the wind turbines, while Ball will purchase the electricity from the other 2. It is expected that 20% of the energy needs of Ball will be generated from their purchase and 22% of the electricity needs for Whirlpool.
